Be The Best Version Of You

Collective Worship

The school provides a daily act of Collective Worship for all the children. Collective Worships on Mondays  are led by the Head of School, involving the whole school family, through visual resources we explore the world around us, and look at the world through the eyes of our Christian values, always starting from a place of kindness and knowing how we can be the best version of ourselves. Tuesdays are Choral Worship, Wednesdays are led by our local Vicar,  we celebrate together, as an extension of St Mary's Church community. Thursdays are class Collective worship, where Behaviour and Character Education, is the starting point for discussions and explorations of our understanding and our important place in the world. On Fridays, as a Church school family, we celebrate being the best version of ourselves, at all times, in all places and to all people. Collective Worships are a special time within the school day, although parents should be aware that they do have the right to withdraw their children from Collective Worship if they so wish.

Acts of collective worship involve many approaches, themes and activities. Common to all will be prayer,  singing and reflection. Through our acts of Collective Worship, we hope to promote spiritual and moral growth.

We hold a number of services at St. Mary’s Church, including Harvest Festival, Christmas, and Easter. Children of specific year groups lead these services for their parents and members of the wider community. We have also had the pleasure of receiving letters from the Bishop in several of our community Collective Worships, which are read to the children by the Head of School.
